The Sustainable Places 2020 conference this year was held as a digital event and gathered nearly 600 participants. Despite the difficult situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event turned out very successful and all discussion panels went smoothly.
INSTRUCT project, represented by Agnieszka Kowalska, Director of the International Cooperation Department and Senior Project Manager at ASM Market Research and Analysis Centre together with Mohaddeseh Maktabifard, MSc Engineers for Smart Cities Candidate and the architect in R2M France, was the organizer of the workshop “Sustainable Energy Skills in the Construction Sector”, which took place on October 28th 2020. Sister projects were also invited to the discussion: BIMEET, BUSLeague, HP4All, The Nzeb Roadshow, TRAIN4SUSTAIN. The event was honored by the presence of Luca Angelino, INSTRUCT project officer from European Commission, EASME Horizon 2020 Energy Unit.
Each project had the opportunity to present its goals, work plan, achievements and share the experience gained so far. Some of the projects have just started, other projects already had the possibility to implement first tasks and activities and therefore it was a very good opportunity to learn about different approaches and activities that will be performed in the coming months and years, one project – BIMEET – had already finished so the workshop was an opportunity to learn about good practices that have worked well and results that have been achieved. As a result, a decision was made to establish a closer collaboration between the projects on the basis of the following activities:
• ongoing communication between projects,
• organization of joint events, webinars and workshops,
• information and dissemination support,
• regular meetings presenting the results of individual projects.
Additionally, the INSTRUCT poster was also published in the SP2020: Posters Virtual Exhibition.
A publication summarizing the workshop is also planned and will be published in Open Access MDPI Proceedings.
